Back in Baltimore...

Hey everyone!

So I am back in Baltimore and life-guarding at the FAC has officially began. If some of you do not know already, Shaq and Michael Phelps will be swimming at the pool this Sunday for Shaq's new TV show on ABC, Shaq Vs. His show is centered around him challenging athletes from an array of sports to see if he can beat them. This segment will determine if he can beat Michael Phelps as well as three other Olympic swimmers (not sure of the names...sorry!).

Despite the last minute decision to host the show at Loyola, it has been a lot of fun setting up the pool area so far. Anyone currently at Loyola should definitely check it out! The show encourages students to come out and cheer them on, expecting about 600 spectators in total.

Other than that, I still cannot believe the summer is over! Although it feels good to be back at school, I really do miss the different experiences I had over the summer. My internship at The Bank of New York Mellon went really well. I was a good way to get my foot into the door of the business world. But most importantly, I got to travel to world which I still speak of often today. Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Egypt, and Jordan were all amazing experiences and hope to visit again in the future.

And In the End...

Today it has finally hit me: the summer is over. My internship ends this Friday, I go back to school next Tuesday….But looking back at my summer I have to say I did a lot of cool things. Even though the thought of working fulltime clogs my mind and sends shivers down my spine knowing that I woke up at 6:30am everyday and didn’t get home until 6:00pm, I did in fact have an awesome summer. I traveled the world, spent my days in New York City, and went to four concerts. Music has always been a huge influence in my life and I’m lucky I had the opportunity to see a few shows, which were The Fray with Jacks Mannequin, Paul McCartney (one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, The Beatles are the greatest band to ever exist), Dave Matthews Band, and Blink 182 with Panic! At the Disco and Fall Out Boy. My weekends were spent on the beach while most of my nights were spent catching up on lost sleep.

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet because it felt good to be nostalgic for a few minutes. I did; however, attach a few pictures below because I took a few cool shots of the different shows I saw. Next Tuesday I make my journey back down south to Charm City to begin work at the FAC again. Going back to lifeguarding will be a drastic change from the usual office environment I’ve experienced for the last nine weeks. Hopefully, I will blog about my trip down to Baltimore and last move-in experience of my college career. So sad!
